The Prairie Astronomy Club will offer its annual free session: “How to Use Your Telescope” at Hyde Observatory, Tuesday evening January 27th at 7:30 p.m.
Far too often, individuals receive a telescope as a gift or purchase it on their own. Instructions and manuals are never very helpful and the telescope may sit unused because the person feels they intimidated or very unclear on how to do the observing. The Prairie Astronomy Club would like to help. Every year at their January public meeting, they offer a session to give hands-on assistance to those who would like to get that telescope out of the closet or the garage and really be able to enjoy it. There is no charge for this session. It is open to the public and if you have a telescope you want to use you are encouraged to bring it.
This session begins with a short welcome and explanation and will last one hour to 90 minutes. The Prairie Astronomy Club holds its meetings the last Tuesday of every month at Hyde Memorial Observatory in Holmes Park here in Lincoln. You do not need to be a member to attend one of these meetings.
